Memories to take with me
Moving home can mean saying goodbye and looking forward at the same time. This free moving-house drawing activity makes space for a memory and something familiar to carry into the next chapter.

Try it together
- Start with a favourite memory of home. Let your child choose a room, a person, a game or a tiny everyday detail.
- Draw something familiar they would like to take. Talk about how to keep it easy to find while packing, if practical.
- Imagine a place for a favourite thing in the new home. The drawing can be an idea; it does not need to match the real room.
A few ways to begin
“What would you like to remember?”
“Which familiar thing would you like to keep nearby?”
“What would you like to show someone in the new home?”
